Karen Phillips

Karen Phillips (PhD) is an Associate Professor, Director of the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa. She obtained her doctorate in physiology, specializing in oocyte maturation, molecular events at fertilization and early embryo development. During her graduate studies, Professor Phillips worked as a clinical embryologist, trained in all aspects of assisted reproductive technologies. Subsequently, she furthered her professional development working at the Institute of Population Health in the area of environmental population health risk assessment, risk communication and risk management. Her current program of research examines interdisciplinary approaches to evaluate sexual and reproductive health.
